AWANA Kids’ Club

Welcome to

at Emmanuel Bible Fellowship!
What is Awana?
AWANA stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” , which is taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. Awana is an international organization, which provides fun clubs for kids from Preschool to 6th Grade, run by local churches all around the world. There are three clubs, depending on your age: Cubbies, Sparks and Truth & Training (T&T for short). (You can find out more about Awana by visiting Awana.org!)

What do you do at Awana?
We sing songs, play games and work on projects together. We meet in small groups with grown-ups who really like to hang out with us. (It kinda seems like they’re having as much fun as we are!) We memorize Bible verses, earn awards and prizes, and learn about Jesus. The best part is we have a ton of fun doing it! We have theme nights like Silly Socks, Crazy Hats, Backwards Night and Wild Hair Night. What’s really cool is the grown-ups do this stuff too! There are also fun parties and events your whole family can come to — like the Grand Prix, where the big kids race pine cars they’ve made themselves.

Who can attend Awana?
Anyone, ages 3 to 12, is welcome! You don’t have to go to church at EBF … in fact, you don’t have to attend church anywhere. Just come and have fun with us! The more the merrier!

Which Awana Club would I attend?
If you’re in preschool, or the two years before Kindergarten, you’d attend Cubbies . If you’re in Kindergarten, 1st or 2nd Grade, you’d come to Sparks. And last but not least, if you’re in 3rd through 6th grade, you’ll want to join T&T !

So… when does Awana meet?
We meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. , pretty much the whole school year. We start in September, usually the week after school starts. And we finish up in June about the time school gets out. We also take the usual school holidays off, like two weeks for Christmas and one week for Spring Break. EBF offers something for kids to do on Wednesday nights even when Awana isn’t meeting, so you can always come and do something fun and meet new friends even if Awana is not in session. In fact, your parents and teenage siblings can come too, and join one of the other groups that meet on Wednesday nights at the same time as Awana.

How do I sign up?
The best way is just to come to club! The first night you’re there, you can participate in everything we do. You’ll get to take home an Entrance Brochure that tells you what Awana is all about, and has some Bible verses for you to memorize. If you keep coming back to club, you can recite the verses to your leader, and earn awards — like your uniform, handbook, and patches or badges to wear on your uniform.

OK, it sounds great….how do I get there?
Here’s a map to Emmanuel Bible Fellowship. It’s located at 2508 State St. NE, in Olympia, WA. From I-5 take Exit 107 (Pacific Ave) and go West, toward Downtown Olympia. Turn right on Phoenix St (or if you miss that, you can turn right on Steele St). You’ll cross Martin Wy, then South Bay Rd, and the church is right there….on your left if you took Phoenix, and on your right if you took Steele.

We can’t wait to see YOU there!
